Let’s Review: THE LUCKY ONE

Ahh, another Nicholas Sparks original. If you like his other stuff (The Notebook, Dear John, A Walk to Remember), you will undoubtedly enjoy this one, too.

The story is boy finds picture, boy meets the girl in the picture, they fall for each other, they encounter something that hinders their relationship, but then they overcome it to live happily ever after. The End.

About 85% of the movie was Zac Efron staring at the screen with a smoldering expression, so you might enjoy that, too. Oh, and he REALLY likes walking. Like, it’s a hobby.

Yep, just like this.

There are very few funny things in the movie, only like, 2, and mostly because of Blythe Danner. It’s not a romantic comedy, but it’s not a tragedy. Just some drama.

It’s PG-13 for some sexuality and violence. I wouldn’t say “some” sexuality because it gets  pretty graphically intense between Efron and Schilling, but there’s no actual nudity.  It’s definitely not for children.

THE LUCKY ONE is in theatres April 20, 2012.

It is 1 hour and 41 minutes long. It is rated PG-13 for some sexuality and violence.

So what did I think?

If you like the Nicholas Sparks, go for it. Whatever floats your boat. I wouldn’t pay $12 to see it, though.

What do you think?
