Whales are huge and super ugly. They’re pretty gross if you look up close. But by the end of this movie,you will never love whales more.

It’s like Dolphin Tale, but with 3 whales.
It’s a true story, based on a big news story in Barrow, Alaska from back in 1988. Expect some big hair, y’all.
This is a heartwarming tale of how people come together for one unselfish purpose: to free a family of stranded whales out in the middle of nowhere. It will make you cheer, laugh a bit, and tear up about a group of animals that you never really thought about before.
I’ve never seen Drew Barrymore in a way that I didn’t like her. Every movie I’ve seen starring Drew (which have been A LOT), I always fall in love with her all over again. No one else could charm me with the talking-out-of-the-side-of-your-mouth thing like Drew Barrymore.
John Krasinksi and Kristen Bell are not very remarkable in this movie. They’re not bad, but they don’t leave an impression.
This movie is rated PG, so it’s nice to take the kids, but it is 107 minutes long, and does kind of lag towards the end and they say “hell” a few more times than a “G”-rated movie.
Expect a little restlessness from the little ones.
BIG MIRACLE is in theatres February 3, 2012.

It’s a nice feel-good movie you can take the whole family to. Go if you have some free time this weekend, or if you really liked Dolphin Tale!
