In this sequel, actor Josh Hutcherson looks all grown up compared to a couple of years ago. I suddenly cannot wait to see him as Peeta Mellark in the upcoming and much-anticipated HUNGER GAMES, coming on March 23…
But, the CGI and digital effects are much improved, as well as the dialogue. There are quite a few funny moments as well as intense action sequences.
After the Game Plan, the Tooth Fairy, and The Race to Witch Mountain, and now Journey 2 (did I miss any?) The Rock, I mean Dwayne Johnson, has pretty much secured his niche as a kids movie actor. Here he is Hank, married to Kristin Davis, and Sean’s stepdad. He is pretty good, though. He is very funny, great facial expressions, and surprisingly, a very nice singing voice.
Michael Caine revives his role as the adventure-havin’ scientific explorin’ grandpa, Alexander Anderson.
The movie has a beautiful soundtrack to go along with the fantastical beasts and gorgeous scenery on The Mysterious Island.
JOURNEY 2: THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND is in theatres and IMAX Feb. 10, 2012.
It is rated PG and is 1 hour and 34 minutes long.
So what do I think?
